 Pub Trivia meets Treasure Hunts
The aim of the Pub Challenge Treasure Hunt is simple - you and your team mates have to complete all six treasure hunt zones in a bid to be the quickest team to reveal the six digit Master Code.
And with every team competing to successfully complete a range of treasure hunt, pub-specific and pub trivia questions there can only be one winner. And don't forget the most important rule... you must take a photo in each pub of your team mates having a drink together!
The rest is up to you!
How does the Pub Challenge Treasure Hunt work?
The Pub Challenge Treasure Hunt takes the best bits of the city Treasure Hunts and combines it with a
Pub Crawl and Pub Quiz to create the perfect after work team event, stag or hen
activity, birthday party or just something to do with a group of friends!
We have split our cities up into six treasure hunt zones with each zone containing...
- a treasure hunt
question
- a pub based question
- three pub quiz questions. The treasure hunt question
will occupy you between pubs, the pub based question will lead you to a particular pub to
reveal some information, and the three pub quiz questions will give you something to test
your brains whilst you have a drink!
The Pub Quiz questions in each Zone have a
different theme to test your knowledge (Sport, History, Geography, Science &
Technology, Nature and Entertainment) so choose your team mates wisely!
Text to Victory!
The Pub Challenge Takeaway Treasure Hunt uses state-of-the-art text messaging technology to 'manage' the event for you offering you maximum flexibility and putting you in control. The text messaging feature allows you to:
- Enter the game.
- Create an amusing Team Name.
- Request up to two lifelines for those clues that you just cannot crack!
- Verify your six digit Master Code.
- Confirm your official finishing time so that you can see which team has won.
The Pub Challenge Takeaway Treasure Hunt offers a very cost-effective activity for your group with no minimum numbers.

You will also have ten items to collect on your way around to earn Bonus Time.
The Winner
The winning team will be the one which completes the Pub Challenge Takeaway in the quickest overall time.
Prior to your Event
The group leader (the end user who has booked the event) will be posted their Pub
Challenge Takeaway approximately two weeks prior to the event. The Pub Challenge
Takeaway Treasure Hunt will contain a ‘Team Pack’ for each team consisting of instructions, maps,
question sheets, scavenger list, a scratchcard answer sheet and a six digit ‘User Code’
which is unique to their group.
On the Day of your Event
The group will need to divide themselves up into teams of up to
five participants, with each team receiving atreasure hunt ‘Team Pack’. Each team will nominate a
captain who will need to text the six digit ‘User Code’ to the Treasure Hunt Control Centre
using the text number provided.
This will set off a chain of automated text messages which will ‘manage’ your event and
ultimately confirm whether you have successfully completed the challenge!
There are six coloured zones to complete with each zone
allocated a double sided sheet containing a
Treasure Hunt question, a Pub-related
question and three Pub Quiz questions.
Each Zone will ultimately reveal one digit of
the six digit Master Code which will need to be
matched and then cratched off from the
scratchcard Answer Sheet.
Once each Zone is
completed and the six digit
Master Code revealed, the
team captain will need to
text it to the Treasure Hunt
Control Centre. The team
will receive a reply
congratulating them on
finishing the treasure hunt
and confirming their
Finishing Time.
If the six digit Master Code is incorrect, then they will have one more opportunity to
check their answers and text in the correct code.

Things to remember
- Each treasure hunt team will need a fully charged mobile phone to use for texting. This text
messaging feature is free-to-use for UK mobile phones in the UK. Mobile charges
may apply for overseas phones.
- The Treasure Hunt takes place on foot so walking is involved. Suitable footwear
and clothing is advised.
